Spring Like Weather – Weekly Newsletter

With the spring like weather we have been having I am sure everyone is getting the itch to get out and play some golf. Last year we were fortunate enough to be playing on MARCH 14th, which is only 20 days away! I am hopeful for another early open for the golf course this year. I will keep everyone updated on when the course will be open for play.

I would like to invite everyone out on Saturday evening the 27th for the Lions “Pre-Paddy” party. The fun starts at 6:00 PM, but there is no harm in coming out early and staying late!

Mark your calendars for FRIDAY MARCH 11th – starting at 5:00 PM the club will be hosting a Spring Social. This event is open to everyone – there will be prizes and raffles with the opportunity to sign up for your membership for the 2016 season.

I would like to thank all of the members who have stepped up and paid early. All members that pay on or before the Spring Social on March 11th will be put into a drawing for some prizes from the club. There will also be a raffle for RYDER CUP TICKETS at this event!

GOLF COURSE IMPROVEMENTS

We have members who have stepped forward to match donated funds for golf course improvements. These members have asked that a minimum of $10,000 be raised by members of the club, but will match up to $15,000. I have commitments from some members already for $11,000. These funds will be used to improve specific items on the golf course. If you would like more information on donating please contact me.

JUNIOR GOLF ASSOCIATION

In an effort to grow the game of golf for the future of our club we will be forming a junior golf association. The goal is to provide junior golf memberships, lessons, tournaments and reserved tee times for youth to come and enjoy the game of golf. If you would like to be involved in the junior golf association as a volunteer or would like to make donations please contact me.

New for 2016

Greg Snow (manager of Olivia Golf Club) and I have agreed upon a reciprocity deal with Olivia Golf Club. It will be $25 plus tax for 18 holes and a cart. In addition to Olivia, Eagle Creek in Willmar has agreed to another year of reciprocity for members of our club. The rate is the same, $25 plus tax for 18 holes and a cart. If you would like to play either Olivia or Eagle Creek contact me and I will set up your tee times.
