April showers bring….A bright green golf course!

Yes, April showers do bring….A bright green golf course!

You are going to start seeing a few changes to the course within the next couple of weeks and throughout the season. John Seehausen has been busy making new O.B. and hazard stakes. New O.B. stakes are in place around the perimeter of the course. New hazard stakes have been put up on 2, 3, 7, 12 & 13. The in course out of bounds has been redefined on 9. Along with all of the new stakes you will also be noticing some of our bunkers disappearing and improvements to some of the cart paths and approaches. We also will be getting new garbage cans on all of the holes this year. I can’t promise a birdie on every hole, but these improvements are sure to make your golfing experience more enjoyable.

The MASTERS DRAFT is this Wednesday! The draft will be held on Wednesday April 6th @ 7:00 PM.

This Friday, April 8th @ 5:00 PM we welcome the Dollars for Scholars Art Silent Auction. Come out to the golf club and check out our amazing artwork created by artists with a tie to the area! Bidding starts this night and will continue to the Evening of the Stars on May 4. Artwork will be displayed at the Redwood Falls Public Library and may be bid on there as well. Contact Tami Riley 644-8023 or [email protected] with questions.

Saturday April 9th – the duel is on! The Lions v Rotary beanbag tournament. Pending nice weather this event will take place on the most scenic deck in southwest Minnesota! This is sure to be a fun time! Spectators are welcome to cheer for their favorite local club! The “battle of the bags” will start around 5:00 Saturday evening! Drinks and food will be available.

The Ladies League kickoff dinner is Tuesday April 19th. Happy hour starts at 5:30, and the dinner will be at 6:30 with a short meeting. I have a sign up sheet in the clubhouse for all who wish to attend. You do not have to play in the league to come out and enjoy the evening.

I still have chances for you to win Ryder Cup tickets! Stop in the clubhouse for details. All proceeds benefit the Redwood Falls Junior Golf Association.

I will be sending out invitations for the Redwood Falls Golf Club Classic – Palmer Kise Tournament within the next couple of weeks. As always, you do not need an invitation to play in this tournament. If you know of someone who is interested in playing, please have them contact the clubhouse or forward them this newsletter and have them sign up to receive notifications on this and all other tournaments we have coming up this season. Our newly designed website will have a calendar of events that anyone can view.

If you would like Redwood Falls Golf Club to host your event please feel free to contact the clubhouse for open dates and times. I would love to work with you to make your event a success.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week and as always I look forward to seeing you all soon!
